Not at all. My Christmas Wreath Workshops are designed for complete beginners as well as those who have made wreaths before. I'll guide you through every step of the process, demonstrating techniques along the way so you'll feel confident creating your own beautiful festive wreath.

How long does the workshop last?

Most workshops last around 2 to 2½ hours. There is plenty of time to enjoy the experience, learn new skills, be creative and relax with festive refreshments without feeling rushed.

Workshops take place at the Lopmint & Purdy Studio in East Morden, Dorset.Full directions and arrival information will be sent with your booking confirmation.

Workshops run between 17th November and 12th December 2026.Regular sessions are held:Tuesday evenings from 6.30pmSaturday mornings from 10.30am
Spaces are limited to just six guests per workshop, so early booking is recommended.

What kind of wreath will I make?

Every wreath is completely individual.You'll create your own festive design using fresh seasonal foliage together with a large selection of premium ribbons, dried botanicals and decorative accessories. Whether your style is traditional, country house, natural or contemporary, you can make your wreath as simple or as luxurious as you wish.No two wreaths are ever the same.

Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without festive treats!You'll be welcomed with a selection of seasonal refreshments throughout the workshop. Whether you fancy a warming mulled wine, a champagne cocktail, a mug of tea or coffee, I'll make sure you're well looked after while you create.

What should I bring with me?

Just yourself and your festive spirit.Everything else is provided, including all tools, materials, foliage and decorations. If you have a special keepsake ornament or ribbon you'd love to include, you're very welcome to bring it along.

Each workshop costs £55 per person.Payment is taken on the day before your workshop begins, and I accept both card and cash payments.

During this hands-on Flower Crown Workshop, you’ll learn how to design and create your own beautiful wearable flower crown using seasonal fresh flowers and natural materials. You’ll be guided step by step through choosing and cutting the best flowers for the crown, be taught wiring and taping techniques with a full demo of the process from start to finish.  From selecting flowers and preparing stems to building and finishing your crown, you’ll leave with new floristry skills and a flower crown to enjoy at home or wear straight away.

Not at all. My Flower Crown Workshop is designed for complete beginners as well as those who already enjoy working with flowers. You’ll be guided throughout the session in a relaxed and supportive environment, making it easy to create something beautiful regardless of experience.

What flowers are used in your fresh flower crown workshop?

We use a carefully chosen selection of seasonal flowers and foliage, cut freshly from the Lopmint that very morning.  Fresh flowers like roses, strawflowers and statice will be used which all dry significantly well leaving not only a fresh flower wearable crown but also one that will dry well to create a dried flower wreath over time.

Yes, all materials needed to create your fresh flower crown are included in the workshop price. This includes flowers, foliage, floristry materials and use of tools during the session. Simply bring yourself and enjoy creating.

Most Flower Crown Workshops last approximately 2 to 2 and half hours, giving plenty of time to learn techniques, create your design and enjoy the experience at a relaxed pace. Exact timings will be included on the booking page.

Will I take my fresh flower crown home afterwards?

Yes, your completed flower crown is yours to take home and enjoy. Many guests wear their crowns for celebrations, gatherings or special occasions afterwards, while others display them briefly at home.  These fresh flower crowns can dry naturally over time and can then be hung at home as a dried flower wreath if you so wish

How long will a fresh flower crown last after the workshop?

Accepted Answer

Fresh flower crowns tend to be designed to be enjoyed for a short period and longevity often depends on the flowers used, temperature and storage. With gentle care and cool storage, and with the use of certain types of flowers, your flower crown can remain looking beautiful for quite some time, gently drying to eventually create a dried flower wreath.  Care guidance will be provided after the workshop.

You don’t need to bring anything unless you’d like to. Everything is provided for you, although you’re welcome to bring inspiration photos or wear comfortable clothing suitable for working creatively with fresh flowers.

Is there parking at the studio?

Yes, most workshops are limited to 6 to 8 people and there should be enough parking for all attendees outside of the studio.  Again full location details will be given with your booking confirmation

Drinks, light refreshments & locally baked goods will be offered and provided throughout the workshop.  However, if you are attending a private event workshop and require a full ‘catered’ lunch please do let me know so that we can discuss what you may have in mind and arrangements can certainly be made

What flowers are traditionally placed on a coffin casket?

Accepted Answer

Casket sprays are the main floral tribute placed on top of the casket.  Families may also choose wreaths, sheafs or single sprays to accompany the main arrangement.  Increasingly, families are opting for seasonal, garden-inspired funeral flowers that feel more personal and natural.

What is the difference between the casket floral designs of a double ended spray and a single ended spray?

Accepted Answer

A double ended spray is a loose diamond shape that runs along the top of the casket, whereas a single ended spray is tear drop shaped and can be placed on the casket or positioned beside it.  When two single ended sprays have been designed there is the option of putting these back to back on top of the casket to produce the illusion of one floral tribute, with the benefit that each member of the family can then take their floral tribute home with them should they so wish.  The choice often depends on how the family wishes to present their tributes on top and or alongside the casket.

How much do farewell flowers cost?

The cost of funeral farewell flowers varies depending on the design, the season, the size and types of flowers chosen.   Large double ended sprays are typically more expensive than single sprays or sheafs.  Please complete an enquiry form and I will send through my current price list.

Can you deliver funeral flowers directly to the funeral director or undertakers?

Accepted Answer

Yes.  I liaise directly with your chosen Dorset funeral director or 'undertaker' to ensure your casket tribute(s) are delivered on time and placed correctly, giving you one less thing to worry about.For any other thanksgiving service flowers or wake reception flowers, these are often collected directly from the Lopmint & Purdy studio the day prior to the service.  However, if you wish, I can also deliver these to your chosen venue for an additional fee if this is easier for you.

How do I order funeral flowers and how far in advance should I order these?

To discuss and order farewell funeral flowers, please complete an Enquiry Form or email me directly.I understand that funeral arrangements are sometimes made quickly, and I will always do my best to accommodate shorter notices where possible.  However, ideally, funeral flowers should be ordered at least a week before the service & details confirmed 48 hours prior, if at all possible.  This allows me enough time to cut, prepare, locally source & supplement stems where needed, and ensures that all stems are nicely in full bloom and conditioned ready for your tributes.

Can I choose specific flowers & colours

Accepted Answer

Yes, you're very welcome to request a dominant focal colour palette, for example: whites and greens, pinks and pastels, pale yellows and apricots, or lilacs and blues.Here at the 'Lopmint' I grow as many different shades of each bloom as possible to offer variety and choice.  However, as all flowers are seasonal, availability will always depend on what is in bloom at the time.  If your preferred colour palette isn't available for your date, I will let you know as soon as possible.Alternatively, you can choose a medley Seasonal 'Florist Choice', which features a beautiful blend of the very best seasonal flowers in a natural mix of colours available at the time.

What happens to the flowers after the funeral service?

Flowers may be taken to the wake reception, shared among family members to take home, or left at the graveside or natural burial ground.If sustainability is important to you, I am very happy to suggest environmentally mindful options that help extend the life and enjoyment of the flowers.   For example, floral tributes can be thoughtfully re-purposed and rearranged into jam jars or small table centerpieces, which can then be donated to your loved one's chosen charity, hospice, or care home (where flower displays are welcomed), allowing others to enjoy them too.
