CASKET TRIBUTE DESIGNS

Choosing the right casket flowers is often guided by family structure and how you wish to honor your loved one’s final farewell.
Whether you prefer one united tribute from the entire family or several individual floral arrangements,
I can help you select a design (or designs) that feels
personal & fitting.

Single ended Spray

Hand-tied Sheaf
A single ended spray comes as a loose teardrop shape. This can be placed at the head of the casket. This is also a good design if family dynamics require separate tributes but a design which can be placed together on the casket to create the illusion of a double ended spray. This also allows members of the family to take home their own floral tributes with them if they so wish. Personal message cards are displayed by using bamboo spikes
Double ended Spray
The double ended spray is the 'standard' design for caskets. It comes as a very loose diamond shape and can either be placed at the head of the casket or centrally and extends along the top. Personal message cards are displayed by using bamboo spikes
The least formal of the other casket designs, a sheaf is like a standard hand tied bouquet but it is put together in such a way to ensure the flowers are elevated and that it has a flat bottom to lie along the head of the casket. The design can be untied and arranged in a vase after the service if you should wish. Personal message cards are displayed by using bamboo spikes

My commitment to sustainability
All designs use sustainable floristry practises with seasonal blooms grown here on my Dorset based micro flower farm or sourced locally wherever possible.
Here at Lopmint & Purdy, & with the exception of Sheafs which are hand tied with string and finshed with jute ribbon, all my casket designs are arranged in fully bio degradable and compostable agra wool blocks with eco trays
As I never use floral foam I am unable to offer casket tribute letters.
The designs are loose & natural, garden-inspired and elegant — suitable for all types of services & final resting places whether that be traditional cemeteries, coastal or woodland eco sites that often forbid the use of plastic.

Finally, Personal tribute cards for your personal messages are made with recycled paper & spiked using wooden card holders

CASKET
tribute placement
The type and number of floral tributes you choose may depend on how you’d like them placed on the casket.
While many families wish to include several tributes, I usually recommend keeping the number placed directly on the casket to a minimum. Thoughtful placement ensures stability while it's being carried & helps to keep everything safe and well presented.
Additional arrangements can be beautifully displayed at the base of the catafalque or plinth.
When I deliver the flowers, I’ll let the undertakers know your wishes for casket placement.
Please see the accompanying image for examples of different tribute placements you may wish to consider.

Seasonal Designs &
COLOUR PALETTES
Casket Flower Designs include one or two focal flowers, at least one line flower, two to three small-to-medium mass flowers, and one or two filler or highlighter varieties, creating a full yet natural tribute.
I will guide you on which flowers are in season and help you choose varieties that create an abundant, loose, and natural arrangement.
You’re welcome to request a colour palette, such as: Whites and greens, Pinks and pastels, Pale yellows and apricots, Lilacs and blues
At The Lopmint, I grow many different shades of each bloom to offer as much variety as possible. However, as all flowers are seasonal, colour availability depends on what is in bloom at the time.
If your preferred palette isn’t available for your date, I’ll let you know as soon as possible.
Alternatively, you may choose Florist’s Choice, featuring a beautiful blend of the best seasonal flowers available, arranged in a natural mix of colours.

ENQUIRE
Please do not hesitate to contact me to make an enquiry and I will get back to you with any further information required.
It would be great if you would enquire or order at least 1 week prior to the funeral to allow us to have enough time to plan together your floral tributes. An order confirmation with your details will be emailed to you to check over.
CONFIRM
Once you receive your 'order confirmation' you will need to let me know asap if you would like me to make any changes to the details. Confirmation of your order given 48 hours prior to the service will allow me enough time to cut (or source) the flowers & make sure they are in full bloom & properly conditioned ready for your service
PAYMENT
Once the final details have been confirmed I will email through an invoice.
Payment will need to be made prior to the date of the service
DELIVERY
If you have not already done so, I will call the undertakers on your behalf to confirm the date and time that the delivery of the casket tributes must be delivered. Some undertakers prefer the day before, whilst others have no 'cooler' storage capacity; and prefer the flowers to be delivered prior to the hearse departing on the day of the service

The casket tribute(s) and any other tributes which will accompany the hearse on your loved ones final journey
will be delivered to the undertakers as requested
collection
Any other flower tributes that are not to 'accompany' the hearse, including church service flowers, and wake reception flowers should be collected directly from Lopmint & Purdy studio the day prior to the service. On request and subject to availability, local delivery can be made for a charge if you prefer
hire returns
For any 'service' flowers that have used urns or vases, these should be returned to Lopmint & Purdy within two weeks of the service to ensure that your deposit can be refunded
